St John’s Square, Clerkenwell

This 1950’s office building was converted to provide nine flats and a new penthouse. The existing pub and two of the office suites were retained. New entrances were provided to rationalize the layouts and create new identities for each of the uses.

The existing walls were re-clad and new glazing was provided throughout. The duplex penthouse was built on the existing roof, using lightweight construction methods. The penthouse has a large roof terrace with panoramic views across London.
